What are your opening times?
Our farm shop opening hours are listed at the bottom of our website—please check there for the most up-to-date information. We kindly ask that you don’t rely on Google for our hours, as those aren’t always accurate.
If you arrive and find the gate closed, please don’t open it yourself. The gate is closed because we’re not open so for your safety and out of respect for our working farm and home, please do not enter when we are closed. Thank you for understanding!
Can I bring my own food and drink?
No, picnics aren’t allowed. But don’t worry, our farm shop has plenty of tasty food and drinks for you to enjoy!
Are there toilets available on site?
Yes, we have two toilets on site, including a fully accessible disabled toilet. Baby changing facilities are also available.
Is parking available and is it free?
Yes! We have a spacious car park that’s free for all our visitors. When we’re busy, a parking attendant may be there to welcome you and guide you to a spot.
Can I walk around the farm?
We’re glad you want to explore! For health and safety reasons, we kindly ask that visitors only walk to the PYO locations (asparagus, polytunnels, and pumpkin patch) and the maze when it’s open. As a working farm, some areas aren’t safe or suitable for visitors, so please stick to the designated paths. Thanks for understanding!
Is it safe for kids to explore and play while visiting?
We want everyone to have a fun and safe time! While kids are welcome to explore The Park Garden, please remember that this is a working farm. For everyone’s safety, children must be supervised by an adult at all times, both in the shop and around the farm.
Can I bring my dog?
Absolutely! Please keep your dog on a lead, clean up after them, and kindly note that dogs aren’t allowed inside the polytunnels.
What are the opening hours?
Our spring/summer PYO opening times can vary depending on fruit availability. The best way to stay up to date is to check our Facebook page or give us a quick call.
For PYO pumpkins, entry is by timed slots, which you can book on our tickets page. Please arrive at your booked time — it helps us keep things running smoothly and ensures everyone has a great visit!
Do I need to book a slot or can I just turn up?
In spring and summer, the only activity that usually needs booking is PYO strawberries on weekends — but this can change depending on fruit availability, so keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates.
In autumn, everyone must book a ticket to enter the pumpkin patch. Whether you plan to pick a pumpkin or simply want to take some photos, anyone over the age of 3 will need a ticket for entry.
What do PYO pumpkins tickets include?
Your ticket gives you access to the pumpkin patch and all the farm’s attractions, including rides and food vans. Please note that pumpkins, food, rides, and any discounts aren’t included in the ticket price and need to be purchased separately.
Will PYO still be open if it rains?
Good news! Since all our fruit is under polytunnels, you’ll stay mostly dry while picking — though you might get a little wet on the walk down. Feel free to call us to check if PYO is open or how muddy it might be. We also post weather updates and closure info on our Facebook page, so be sure to check there before you visit during rainy or stormy weather. This applies throughout all PYO seasons, including pumpkins.
Are your strawberries on the ground or table tops?
Our strawberries are positioned on table tops to keep the fruit as healthy as possible but don’t worry, the fruit still hangs low enough for children to reach.
Are dogs allowed in the polytunnels/fields?
We do allow your furry friends on the farm but they must be on a lead and they are not allowed in the polytunnels.
Is there pushchair/wheelchair access?
Yes! We have access for pushchairs and wheelchairs, but please be aware the ground can get uneven or muddy, especially after rain. During pumpkin season, access to the patch can be trickier and depends heavily on the weather. We always do our best to make PYO accessible for everyone, but conditions can change — so feel free to call or check our Facebook page for the latest info before you visit.
Can I fly drones?
Sorry, no drones are allowed to be flown over the farm.
What should I bring for PYO pumpkins?
The secret to an easy trip? Come prepared! We highly recommend wellies and a waterproof jacket — you know what the English weather can be like! We’ve seen more than a fair share of ruined trainers on the pumpkin patch so consider yourself warned.
To keep your car as clean as possible, bring some bin liners for your pumpkins. Wet wipes, plastic bags for muddy boots and old towels are also popular items for a tidy trip home. With a little prep, you’ll be set for a great day at the farm!
IMPORTANT!
The props in our pumpkin patch are there to make your visit magical. For everyone’s safety and to keep things looking great, please don’t climb on or touch the props. A lot of care goes into creating them, and anyone causing damage will be asked to leave the pumpkin patch.
